Igeho 2015: 50 years of hospitality

Published on 8/26/2015 by Corinne Moser

It is only three months to go until Igeho opens its doors. On 68 000 square metres of exhibition space, some 700 exhibitors from 12 different countries will be presenting their products, innovations, ideas and trends. Alongside an impressive and comprehensive range of products and services for the hotel, restaurant, take-away and care sectors, the Igeho Campus marks the absolute highlight of this anniversary edition. "With this new event and contact platform, we are setting out to offer our guests added value in the exhibition hall", says Exhibition Director, Dominique Dresel, in explaining the concept. The high-calibre programme is also intended to appeal to potential exhibition visitors, encouraging them to make use of this opportunity for professionals to share their experience.

Igeho Campus – the new industry meeting point par excellence
Gripping speakers, lively discussion rounds and exciting talks with experts feature on the programme for the Igeho Campus every day. Big names like Dr. Ludwig Hasler, Beat Krippendorf, Carsten K. Rath, Roland Berger and Ernst A. Wyrsch will be sharing their experiences freely with visitors. Lateral thinker Karem Albash and restaurateurs Rolf Hiltl, Eduard Hitzberger and Michel Péclard will be disclosing their recipes for success. And anyone wishing to find out more about hotel-style hospital accommodation will not be disappointed either. Once the professional visitors have satisfied their hunger for success and quenched their thirst for knowledge, they will be able to meet up with colleagues, foster customer contacts and encounter new people in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Igeho Campus is supported by the industry associations Hotel&Gastro Union, hotelleriesuisse and GastroSuisse and by the Swiss Association of Hospital, Care Home and Communal Catering (SVG). The detailed daily programme will be posted at www.igeho.ch/events in mid September.

Chefs' Arena – the secrets of the professional cooks
Cooking shows come right out top in terms of viewing figures, gourmet chefs are deemed to be "gods in white aprons", and their young counterparts are the new shooting stars. René Schudel, Johann Lafer, Vreni Giger, Mario Garcia, Meta Hiltebrand, Rolf Mürner, Mirko Buri, Ewald Notter, Ale Mordasini, Steven Duss and Adrian Amrhein will be letting visitors take a look inside their pots and pans in the Chefs' Arena. They will also be talking about their cooking philosophy and the latest trends from all over the world and sharing their personal recipes for success.

Restaurant CH – where young professionals cook for you
Restaurant CH with its temporary gastronomy concept is entering its second season at Igeho. Under the auspices of the Belvoir Park Hotel and Restaurant Management School, students will be translating their vision of an innovative and creative restaurant into reality. Striking a balance between the traditional and the modern, these young professionals will be showcasing their talents and skills at the fair and providing a true culinary highlight just before they finish their course.
