HotellerieSuisse: How sustainability is changing the present and future of hospitality & gastronomy

Guests are becoming increasingly aware that their travel and eating habits have an impact on people and planet. Experts discuss how hotels, destinations and restaurants can operate in a resource-efficient and sustainable way to benefit the environment, customers and operators.

According to Booking.com's Sustainable Travel Report 2022, 71 percent of all guests want to travel more sustainably in the coming year - that is 10 percent more than the year before. So hotels not only have a responsibility to the environment, but also need to create sustainable solutions for their guests, employees and owners. Sustainability is a complex issue that encompasses numerous facets such as energy conservation, food waste, communications and the workforce.
