TrackIT blockchain: The value chain for Made in Italy traceability

Product traceability on blockchain is a useful tool for information transparency. Blockchain technology ensures the immutability of the recorded data and the certain date of its recording; by its nature, blockchain thus represents an assumption of responsibility from the company recording the product data and a deterrent against the inclusion of untrue information.

The blockchain product traceability improves, for the customers, transparency on the value chain, enhances the product's uniqueness and protects the Made in Italy brand from
counterfeiting phenomena. It is a tool to protect Italian know-how and production against
the fake Made in Italy products.

To realize the TrackIT blockchain project, the Italian Trade Agency selected nine Service
Provider, with a high expertise in blockchain technology, who are in charge of providing,
managing, and developing a blockchain-based registration system for the Italian
companies that joined the project.
