GKM was founded in 1992 and from the very beginning it was clear that the company wanted to supply the refrigeration trade throughout Switzerland with ready-to-plug-in units and also support them in terms of service. From an initially small range, the entire commercial refrigeration sector was covered more and more. At the request of our customers, we have added cold rooms and the associated installation services to our range and have continued to develop them. The loyal and close cooperation with manufacturers from all over Europe has always been a major concern.
Today, GKM works with around 35 manufacturers from all over Europe, most of whom have a long-standing relationship with GKM. In the field of ready-to-plug-in appliances, some of the manufacturers' innovations and programme changes were developed by GKM. Many things have been optimised for the Swiss market through the influence of GKM.
The most important interface for all customers who use high-performance cooling units is service and support. Thanks to many years of cooperation, we always find the optimal solution for almost all requirements with our partners. GKM unites a dealer network with around 500 refrigeration partners
The assembly team has been expanded over the years and is now a major pillar of the company. The clientele has also developed steadily. GKM can also proudly look back on long-standing business relationships - from which friendships have also developed.
In the field of logistics, too, GKM has always relied on using its own vehicles and employees to carry out the work, so that it has always been able to maintain flexibility towards its customers. Thanks to years of experience, GKM also handles the entire logistics and warehouse management of refrigerators and freezers for well-known companies in the food and beverage industry.
A great potential of the company is certainly also the large warehouse with over 1400 pallet places, in which a lot has always been invested from the beginning. With the modernisation of the spare parts warehouse in 2020, a big step was taken for the future, which also clearly shows that service and support continue to be an important cornerstone in the company.
Today, GKM is very proud to advise and supply its customers in all areas of "commercial refrigeration". With almost 50 employees, GKM is fully motivated every day to support customers and also to seek and submit solutions for non-standard concerns.
The sister company TEMPCO AG, with its approximately 800 rental units, provides a great deal of support and helps to work out individual solutions for the customer and to bridge bottlenecks or delivery delays.
