This is the mission of the Verace Pizza Napoletana Association (AVPN), which for over thirty years has been in the front line in the defence of pizzerias, pizza makers and the products of the supply chain linked to this great gastronomic excellence.The AVPN was founded in June 1984 in Naples by the owners of 17 historic Neapolitan pizzerias at the same time as the registration of the collective trademark 'Vera Pizza Napoletana' and the notarial deposit of the relative International Regulations.
The 1984 Disciplinary was adopted, in almost its entirety, in 2004 by the European Community for the STG recognition of the Neapolitan Pizza and became the element on which Unesco based the recognition of the art of the Neapolitan pizza maker as an intangible heritage of humanity.
Today, the Association has more than 1150 affiliated pizzerias in 60 countries and is structured in a head office in Naples that coordinates the activities of the 6 international delegations (USA, Japan, Brazil, Australia, Latin America and soon Canada) and the brand ambassadors present in Italy (13) and worldwide (22).
For over 20 years, we have been engaged in the professional training of future pizza makers and entrepreneurs in the sector; around 500 people a year study in our directly managed schools around the world (Los Angeles, Montreal, Sao Paulo, Canela, Rancagua, Granada, Frankfurt, Kyoto, Osaka, Istanbul, Sydney and, of course, Naples) to which we add 8 accredited schools in France.
Since 2016 we have also been training amateurs and enthusiasts both on-site and online (around 2,100 people a year) with the 'Neapolitan Pizzamaker for one day' experience.
The relationship with partner companies is managed through the Register of Suppliers, a tool for the procurement of products, food and non-food, related to the production chain of true Neapolitan pizza. A tool at the service of all the affiliated pizzerias to choose the ovens, equipment and raw materials (food and beverage) recommended by the Association, in order to obtain and guarantee the high quality standards in accordance with the requirements of the "True Neapolitan Pizza".
The promotion of Neapolitan pizza is carried out through seminars, workshops, fairs and events organised in person and/or in collaboration with partner companies, both nationally and internationally, and through the main social channels:
