Summing up Igeho 2019: An enthusiastic approach to the future

Published on 11/20/2019 by Corinne Moser

The International Exhibition for Hotels, Catering, Take-away and Care was staged from Saturday, 16 November until today, Wednesday, 20 November 2019. Some 650 exhibitors from 19 countries presented their products and services at this, the most important industry meeting point for Swiss hosts. This sharing of traditions and the latest trends for a successful future attracted some 65 000 interested professional visitors to Messe Basel. Following initial assessments of the exhibitor and visitor surveys, the exhibition management is reporting a positive outcome.

Igeho 2019 attracted a large number of professionals to Messe Basel. The information provided this year included, in particular, future-oriented solutions and ways of mastering the challenges faced by the hotel and catering industries in today's fast-moving times. The accompanying programme delighted visitors with highlights like the Igeho Campus powered by HotellerieSuisse, where the focus was on topics such as sustainability, team spirit and the use that can be made of social media in the catering sector. In the Chefs' Arena, visitors were able to marvel at the skills of eminent star chefs including Tanja Grandits, "Chef of the Year 2020" and Tim Raue, one of the world's best chefs. Raue commented on his presence at Igeho: "I already know most of the exhibitors. They are fantastic brands that we have been working with for decades already". The spirits trade fair, DRINKafFAIR, which was staged as a guest fair at Igeho for the first time also generated positive feedback.

Delighted visitors and a satisfied exhibition management
The 650 or so exhibitors and the professional visitors who came gave a positive assessment of the fair – as did the exhibition management. "With the DRINKafFAIR guest trade fair, we were able to extend the range of offerings at Igeho and thus address a broader target group", says exhibition manager Corinne Moser. "Igeho shows what goes to make up a perfect guest experience. This is due to the large number of competent partner companies that come together here. Face-to-face discussions play a key role for exhibitors and visitors alike. This is why Igeho marks a highlight for the industry every two years."

Igeho 2019 has made a fresh and inspiring impression on exhibitors, partners and visitors. And this is why everyone is looking forward to the next edition already, which is being staged at Messe Basel from 20 to 24 November 2021.
