A new era is beginning on 23 November 2013 for Igeho, the international exhibition for hotels, catering and extra-domestic consumption, and Mefa, the specialist fair for the meat trade. It is not just that this is the first time they are moving into the impressive new exhibition complex designed by the famous Basel architectural practice of Herzog & de Meuron. More than that: after a break of eight years, they are once again providing a platform for the general public with the Salon Culinaire Mondial, where the world’s culinary elite gathers together. Moreover, thanks to the launch of the new Lefatec, the specialist fair for the food industry, it is very likely that larger numbers of milk, cheese, beverage and convenience-food producers will make their way to Basel. It is expected that up to 80 000 trade visitors will attend.
