    Yesterday, Wednesday, 25 November, Igeho, the international exhibition for hotels, catering, take-away and care, and Mefa, the specialist fair for the meat trade and food production, came to an end at Messe Basel. Around 800 exhibitors from 12 countries presented their products and ideas on a surface area of 68 000 square metres. Over the period of five days, a good 71 000 interested visitors from the hospitality sector came to find out about the latest developments. A consistently positive atmosphere prevailed in the exhibition halls, as is borne out by the first results of the exhibitor and visitor surveys.

    Today, Saturday 21 November 2015, Igeho, the international exhibition for hotels, catering, take-away and care has opened its doors at Messe Basel. Over a total of five days, some 800 exhibitors from 12 countries will be presenting their products and ideas on an area of 68 000 square metres. And a number of highlights and surprises are lined up on the opening day already. Some 76 000 visitors from the hospitality sector are expected to attend. Mefa, the specialist fair for the meat trade and food production, is being staged at the same time as Igeho.

  • Basel – the meeting point for professionals from the hotel and catering sectors

    Igeho, Mefa, Lefatec and the Salon Culinaire Mondial were staged at Messe Basel from 23 to 27 November 2013. Approximately 76 000 professional visitors took the opportunity to find out about the latest trends in the hotel and catering sectors, the meat trade and in food production at the industry's biggest and most important platform in Switzerland. A total of 886 exhibitors from more than 15 countries presented the full range of products and services from the above sectors on a surface area of 73 000 m2. As the surveys conducted amongst exhibitors and the initial evaluations of visitor surveys have shown, a highly positive mood prevailed in the new exhibition halls. The international team-cooking competition, Salon Culinaire Mondial, also convinced the public at large with its creative presentations of culinary art.

  • A new home, a crowd-puller and a premiere in Basel

    A new era is beginning on 23 November 2013 for Igeho, the international exhibition for hotels, catering and extra-domestic consumption, and Mefa, the specialist fair for the meat trade. It is not just that this is the first time they are moving into the impressive new exhibition complex designed by the famous Basel architectural practice of Herzog & de Meuron. More than that: after a break of eight years, they are once again providing a platform for the general public with the Salon Culinaire Mondial, where the world’s culinary elite gathers together. Moreover, thanks to the launch of the new Lefatec, the specialist fair for the food industry, it is very likely that larger numbers of milk, cheese, beverage and convenience-food producers will make their way to Basel. It is expected that up to 80 000 trade visitors will attend.

  • Igeho 2013 and the Salon Culinaire Mondial in the new exhibition hall complex

    Igeho, the international exhibition for hotels, catering and extra-domestic consumption, and the Mefa and Lefatec trade fairs being staged in parallel, are being held in the new Hall 1 at Messe Basel for the first time from 23 to 27 November 2013. The internationally renowned Salon Culinaire Mondial 2013 will be occupying the Event Hall on the ground floor with its Restaurant Des Nations and the show kitchens. The new building designed by Basel architects Herzog & de Meuron combines functionality and aesthetics in the ideal manner. The new building is an impressive architectural visiting card and offers the perfect setting for an Igeho 2013 full of surprises.
